13 Ways to have a MISERABLE Halloween with your Kids

Don’t listen to any fun Halloween music. Don’t play it in the car when your driving to and from school in October. Above all: Don’t sing along with them, they love that! (even if they pretend they don’t)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~- Don’t tell your kids any funny Halloween jokes this October.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t send them a surprise Halloween eCard telling them you love them and how awesome they are. Kids love praise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t make any cool Halloween art projects with them as a team. Kids hate to be left alone and they love to try new things (double whammy).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t make or buy them a cool Halloween costume. Kids love having a cool costume.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Break the Halloween spirit psychologically by walking around saying things like, "It’s all about the candy, anyway" and just buy them some candy and have done with it. OR say, "All that candy will rot your teeth" and refuse to take them trick-or-treating. Kids hate that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t make them anything special for Breakfast or Dinner on Halloween. Keep everything the same as usual. Especially don’t make any food that looks a little creepy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Kids seem to like Harry Potter, so don’t make anything that might encourage this fascination (or reading in general), especially if it’s delicious, like Red Hot Cauldron Cakes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Also, forget to make any other homemade Halloween treats or other goodies. Kid’s like to know that you thought of them, so don’t do it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Kids like Halloween Games, so forget playing anything with them, one on one or in a group. Just watch TV, and make sure there’s nothing Halloween related on the set.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - If you’re having them learn to play an instrument, like piano, don’t let them play any fun Halloween music; stick to the method books all of October. You wouldn’t want them to think playing an instrument could be fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t let them enter any Halloween art contests or upload their Halloween artwork to be admired by friends and family. Kids love attention; don’t give it to them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Don’t read any Halloween stories, poems or books to your kids. They like having one on one time of any kind, especially if its mixed with something fun and interesting.
