Gordy, by Roni DaRonche and illustrated by Melissa Green, is a great little Halloween story for young children that emphasizes the power of being yourself and not worrying too much about negative peer pressure. All the other pumpkins want Gordy to be a "Scary" jackolantern like themselves, but little Gordy just can’t manage it.
