My old friend, Kristen Lawrence, has released a second installment in her Halloween Carols project. "A Broom with a View" (very clever title) has 13 tracks, five of which are reprises or instrumental versions. The album features Kristen’s silver, expressive vocals which are perfect for this kind of Halloween album, which is at times serious, but mostly full of good grim humor. Halloween and nuance don’t often mix, but Kristen pulls it off swimingly. My favorites among these (in album order):
