This site is incredibly fun, it features Stephen Bucher’s Daily Monster: a series of 200 monsters created from ink blobs. Each monster is created before your eyes on video and some of the drawings are truly hilarious. It is fascinating to watch the progress of each monster from blop of ink to finished creation and you can leave comments about what you think the story of each of these monsters is. Use this link if you want to start at monster number 1 and work your way up from the beginning.

Even though the Bride is only featured for a few minutes at the end of "Bride of Frankenstein," she has become one of those iconic images that most people will recognize (like the Frankenstein monster itself). My reaction to her in the movie (she never gets completed in the book), is "poor thing, what a way to wake up." You can sympathize with her and the monster’s loneliness. Kind of gut wrenching actually. We’ve all been there, in each of these positions; either the rejected or the rejector. That’s one reason I think that even with the camp, this old film still resonates and similar beauty and the beast fables always will.
I was experimenting with a set of gray to white pencils in this drawing. I used a fine tip black felt pen for details.
Happy Halloween!
