Grandma Taylor's Halloween Night
By M Ryan Taylor on May 24, 2008 | In Activities
Three fun activities to celebrate your Halloween Night from Grandma Taylor:
Prepare a SPOOKY HALLOWEEN DINNER: Theme the table with proper tablecloth and decorations. Write the menu on large white paper cut out as ghost, folded to stand on the table. Sample menu:
- SWAMP WATER——————-equal parts root beer and orange
- YELLOW SKELETON TEETH————–corn
- MUMMY’S BRAINS—————–cauliflower
- ROAST BEAST——————-burgers, sloppy joes even roast beef
- MASHED GHOST——————mashed potatoes
Trick or Treat Caroling: Organize your family, invite another if you wish and practice Halloween songs of your choosing. Then, go around the neighborhood and give your neighbors a vocal treat. [Try the "Thirteen for Halloween" CD and Songbook available at Songs for Teaching.]
End your evening with a Scary Story Hour. There are a ton of wonderful books for Halloween for kids of all ages. Check your local library (but check early, like on October 1st).
