Grandma Taylor's Gaggle of Ghostly Ghouly Tins

Your ordinary cans can become Ghosts, cats, pumpkins, werewolf, witches, Frankenstein, etc.
Materials needed:
- Tin cans acording to your preference. Large #10 cans to serve as trick or treat "buckets. Tuna cans become votives. Regular 10 to 20 oz. cans become individual or gift candy containers. It is best to get cans that do not have sharp edges around the rim. Some of the pop tops work well. If not, file the edges on the inside until smooth or cover with thick tape.
- High gloss spray paint: pumpkin orange, ghouly green, ghostly white, blacky cat, very dark brown
- Tube paints with point for drawing faces, assorted colors, ie. red, yellow, green, white, etc.
- Velour pipe cleaners in matching colors or sturdy wire
- Cellophane candy bags
- Twist tie or curly ribbon
- Large nail and hammer or drill
- Pliers
Procedure:
- Prepare cans and wash well. Let dry thoroughly.
- Drill hole on either side center-top for handle or use a hammer & large nail for the holes being careful to support the inside of the can.
- Spray outside of cans with desired color in well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors, using newspaper for a mat. Let dry.
- Paint faces on cans free-hand or use our examples. Kids especially like to make up their own faces. Let dry.
- Attach handle: pipe cleaners or sturdy wire with a little twist of pliers at ends.
- If you wish to add other baubles, do it now, such as rhinestones on cat eyes or collar. Witches hair and hat (a little felt will do nicely). Use your imagination and be as fancy as you wish!
- Fill with wrapped candies or cellophane candy bags. Twist tie end or use curly ribbon to close.
- For votives simply add candle.
- For Trick or Treat bucket, construct sturdy handle able to bear a bucket of candy!
