This block print carries my own home-grown poem inspired by classic old-fashioned Halloween cards:
- Fear no spectre, spook or bat,
Pumpkin, ghoul or blackest cat!
When you a bear a smiling charm,
You’re protected from all harm!
O.K., a little silly, but that’s the point, right?

This is the second in my Masks series of etchings. The poem reads:
- A Halloween Wish:
I Wish you May
I Wish you Might
Be the Thing
You Wish Tonight
I’ve always thought of the Frankenstein monster as a sad creature who would have rather have been a sympathetic, loveable bunny. I think that’s true whether you look at the old movies with "the Uncanny" Boris Karloff, or you look at the original book by Mary Shelley.
If you look closely you can see Dr. Frankenstein in the picture as well . . .
Happy Halloween!
Masks 1 : Headless Horseman with Cat Mask

This is the first of my Mask series of etchings. The poem reads:
- On Halloween Night
You can easily see
All your dreams realized
Of what you wish you could be
I’ve loved the tale of the Headless Horseman since I was a child (as retold by Walt Disney). When I grew older I read the story by Washington Irving which, surprisingly, I found that Disney had stayed very true to (he must have liked it the way it was).
Now why a cat mask for the Headless Horseman? I suggest you ask him, but I must warn you: "You can’t reason with a Headless Man!"
Happy Halloween!
